Heavy Machinery – Regular condition checks during the leasing period.

Good to know how your machines and vehicles are doing. Avoid unpleasant surprises.

If you are not a multi-billion rich bank, but a medium-sized leasing company, it might be a good idea to reduce the risks involved in leasing construction machinery. As a rule, you will only know the condition of the machines when you sign the purchase contract. During the leasing period, you have to rely on information provided by the user. This can lead to unpleasant surprises at the end of the leasing period. If the machine is in a very poor state of maintenance and the lessee is not solvent, there are considerable risks involved in disposing of the leasing returns.

Regular condition checks on construction sites

A cost-effective solution could be to use a professional and inexpensive inspection service. Inspectors, who are traveling around the country for other tasks anyway, can make a quick visit at regular intervals. Construction machinery professionals will recognize within a short visit whether your machine is in a normal maintenance condition, in a safe operating condition and in a well-maintained condition. In this way, you can avoid the risk of unpleasant surprises at the end of the leasing period. You would recognize in good time if there is a maintenance backlog or if the machines are in poor condition.

Is this service expensive?

How about getting an inspection twice a calendar year for less than €300 per machine? You will receive a brief report with a description of the machine’s condition, information on whether any major defects were found and some pictures. Inspectors inspect construction machines, whether they are on a construction site, in a construction company or in an open-cast mine. Our inspectors are trained and have received the necessary safety training to operate on construction sites. We also communicate diplomatically with site managers, excavator operators and equipment operators. Communication with employees can be coordinated with the management of the company concerned.

Determination of residual values after leasing of heavy machinery

An important part of MEVAS‘ work is the valuation of heavy machinery and equipment. We regularly carry out residual value analyses of machinery in the construction and mining industries. We often value construction machinery and vehicles when a construction company is to be sold. As we have been carrying out this activity for almost 20 years, we have a wealth of experience. We can refer to many reference projects.
